Technical Artist

Part-time employment/freelance | Remote

We’re looking for someone to work on a five-month project (Aug - Dec 2022), delivering approx. 300 hours of work. Long term, we’re hoping for a recurring collaborator, or to bring another person into Henchman & Goon.

The game in mention is a 3rd person walking simulator with some puzzle elements. The goal of the 5 month period is to create a vertical slice. Audio-visual presentation is an important part of the game and will be the focus of the project.

You’ll be an integrated part of the team, working with the art director, game designer, and other artists to help ensure creative vision is realized in Unity.

We’re a small indie team so as far as technical artists go this is a generalist position.

You’ll create shaders, script VFX systems, particle effects, and work with lighting and performance optimization for the project. It will be a lot of environment and some character work. You’ll also help shape the content pipeline, workflows, and tools.

You’ll need to work independently as well as collaborate with (and receive feedback from) other artists, animators, and designers.
